About Me

Final-year Ph.D. candidate in computer science at the University of California, Davis and graduate student researcher at Tagkopoulos Lab and AI Institute for Next Generation Food Systems, advised by Prof. Ilias Tagkopoulos.

Research

Builds end-to-end pipelines for information retrieval, extraction, and knowledge graph construction. Leverages state-of-the-art AI (machine learning, large language models, and agents) to transform messy, unstructured interdisciplinary data into knowledge bases and actionable insights.

Outside of Research

  • Training mixed martial arts (MMA) and Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) since 2021 (the real reason for studying AI: afford a garage and convert it into a personal MMA gym)
  • Avid stock investor
  • Recently exploring a naturalistic pantheist worldview
  • First language(s): Mandarin and Japanese (hanzi/kanji: 李方舟; hiragana: り ほうしゅう)
  • Favorites
    • MMA fighter: Conor McGregor
    • Comedians: Bill Burr, Jimmy Carr
    • Music artists: AURORA, Fujii Kaze, XG
    • Games series (if time ever permits): Soulsborne, Final Fantasy, Age of Empires, Heroes of Might and Magic, Super Smash Bros.
